High Hopes: the Amityville Murders
The only halfway decent book in the Amityville cannon, this was written by the prosecuting attorney and describes the murders and the trial. A little dry at parts, but at least doesn't bring up Satan, warlocks, or Butch DeFeo as misunderstood antihero.

Amityville - My Sister's Keeper: a Story of Death, Deception, and the Occult
Holy shit, George Lutz was a warlock!!! Not really, but that's the thesis of this book and the one point that the author seems insistent on hammering home. This really was written by Kathy Lutz's sister and she apparently has either gone off the deep end or is extremely pragmatic about cashing in on the stupidity of Amityville fans.

The Devil I Know: My Haunting Journey with Ronnie DeFeo and the True Story of the Amityville Murders
Jesus fucking Christ, here's another "Butch Defeo was a misunderstood hero" book. How do these keep getting written? The author is a self-proclaimed psychic who is contacted telepathically by Butch and she goes to prison to free him from Satan's grip. This book is actually better and more interesting than some of the others, but still absolutely bonkers.
